Welcome to the best little tour of Wanaka’s distinct, unique and local craft breweries.
Wanaka has more craft breweries per head of population than anywhere else in New Zealand!
This tour takes in three of Wanaka’s craft breweries:
Wanaka Beerworks, Ground Up, and Rhyme and Reason.
Beer sampling platters are included at each brewery, and you will also be given a full behind-the-scenes tour at both Wanaka Beerworks and Ground Up Breweries.
So come with us to visit three of our unique and iconic Wanaka craft breweries.
Meet and talk to our brewers, taste their brews, and discover what is involved in the creation of their unique masterpieces.
Our Wanaka brewers are all friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and very welcoming. They want to share their passion with you. They love to talk about their craft beers, and also to hear of your own personal experiences. They all know that the process of creating a new beer is a much more immersive and interesting process than wine production (which we’re also very good at here in Central Otago)

Breweries
Wanaka Beerworks have been brewing locally since 1998 and have recently partnered with the Jabberwocky Brewery. Continuing their long-established brewing traditions, they offer a very broad range of high quality craft beers.
Wanaka Beerworks and Jabberwocky use only pure ingredients and alpine water to create their hand-crafted, micro brewed beers. In simple terms, they make darn good beer in an amazing place.
Ground Up Brewing’s tagline is “Brewing on the Edge”, which derives from their mountaineering background.
So, along with the production of their go-to beers that regular followers always demand, you will also find several experimental “Off the Edge” brews that will get your taste buds tingling.
Rhyme and Reason. Rather than there being no rhyme or reason at all, you will find both rhyme and reason here.
Opening their doors in 2017, this brewery and bar has very quickly made a solid name for itself, and it has become an absolute go-to destination for Wanaka locals in the know.
With their core range of sensational high-quality beers, and new brews always on the go, you will always be spoiled for choice.
Craft Beer Tours
Our Craft Beer Tours last a minimum of 2.5 hours.
Price is $145 per person.
We will collect you from your Wanaka Accommodation, and our professional guides will accompany you throughout your tour, as you learn more about craft brewing, and you experience the unique and wonderful tastes and locations that our Wanaka craft breweries have to offer.
The tour will end at the Rhyme and Reason brewery.
After the tour ends, you can choose to settle in for a longer tasting, or we can immediately return you to your accommodation.
Regardless of when you’re done, we will collect you, and will then return you to town or to your accommodation address at no extra cost.
On your journey home, we would be delighted to share some stories about your experience.
